Advertising Policy
We are committed to providing a high-quality, trustworthy experience for our readers. This policy outlines the guidelines and standards for all advertisements and sponsorships on our platform.
Last updated: March 2026
1. Audience & Relevance
Our core audience consists of software engineers, developers, and tech professionals. To maintain the integrity of our platform, all advertisements must be highly relevant to this demographic.
We actively encourage sponsorships from:
- B2B SaaS companies and developer tools.
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers.
- Technical hiring platforms and bootcamps.
- APIs, SDKs, and open-source commercial projects.
- Tech conferences and community events.
2. Prohibited Content
We strictly prohibit advertisements that disrupt the user experience or promote harmful, deceptive, or entirely unrelated products. We will immediately reject or pull campaigns containing:
- Intrusive Formats: Pop-ups, auto-playing audio/video, or disguised "download" buttons.
- Deceptive Claims: Misleading headlines, fake "system warnings," or get-rich-quick schemes.
- Malicious Software: Links to malware, spyware, or unverified executables.
- Restricted Industries: Adult content, gambling, unregulated cryptocurrencies/ICOs, weapons, or illegal drugs.
- Political or Religious Content: Lobbying, political campaigns, or strictly religious messaging.
3. Transparency & Disclosures
Trust is our most valuable asset. We comply strictly with FTC guidelines (and equivalent international standards) regarding sponsored content.
- Banner Ads: All banner advertisements are visually distinct from editorial content and explicitly labeled as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored."
- Sponsored Articles: Any deep-dive article or tutorial paid for by a sponsor will include a clear, undeniable disclaimer at the very top of the post stating that the content is sponsored.
- DoFollow Links: Sponsored articles include standard SEO links, but we reserve the right to add
rel="sponsored"if deemed necessary for search engine compliance.
4. Review Process & Right to Refuse
All ad creatives, destination URLs, and sponsored article drafts must be submitted for review before going live. We reserve the absolute right to refuse, reject, or cancel any advertisement or sponsorship at any time, for any reason, if we determine it does not align with our brand values or reader interests.
If a campaign is paused or canceled by us due to a policy violation after it has gone live, no refunds will be issued for the remaining duration.
5. Analytics & Performance Tracking
We provide transparent analytics (views, clicks, and CTR) via our internal routing system (/api/ad-click) to protect user privacy.
- We do not allow third-party tracking pixels, invasive cookies, or scripts injected directly into our site by advertisers.
- While we provide historical CTR data to estimate performance, we do not guarantee specific click volumes, leads, or conversions.
6. Payment & Cancellation Terms
Payments for banner placements, newsletter slots, and sponsored articles must be completed upfront before the campaign goes live.
- Cancellations: Sponsors may cancel their campaign up to 72 hours before the scheduled go-live date for a full refund. Cancellations made after this window are non-refundable.
- Creative Swaps: You may request to swap your banner creative or destination URL once per week during an active campaign.
